Asleep At The Wheel - Cherokee Maiden

Here’s a real good feeling music to start the day! Asleep At The Wheel has been around for ages and they are absolutely superb musicians. Check out the guests they had on these sessions. It was some years back, but it’s still as good as it was then.

I dare you to listen to this few times and then go on with your day. Eventually at some point you’ll start humming this!

Randy Rogers Band - Burning The Day

This band has been around for quite some time, but have really hit big times during the last few years.

This is their 4th album and it is an excellent piece of new country music, very laid back and sounding quite traditional.

This is new country, but surprisingly it is not over produced, but rather sounding like a real band playing music they love.

If you like your country in the real way it might be a good idea to pick up this CD. It is great that there are bands like this raising to popularity as it keeps country real. No wonder that country is so popular these days with bands like Randy Rogers Band.

Randy Rogers Band - Interstate

Excellent song taken from the hit album Burning The Day.

Little Big Town - Little White Church

I’ve been following this band for a few years now and it seems they are on the verge of huge success. This is an excellent song. Little Big Town and Lady Antebellum are both very good and they deserve all the success now coming their way.

Lots of great things happening in the country music genre.

OK, just when I wrote that Bruce Springsteen should do some real roots stuff like Tom Petty I found this. Not really sure what this is, but it would be great if he would make an album bit like this, without any of that overblown studio stuff.

Jason Heath & The Greedy Souls cover of Bruce Springsteen’s 4th Of July, Asbury Park (Sandy). It is a beautiful song dedicated in loving memory to Danny Federici. Great version of a gorgeous song.

I started to listen to Bruce in 1975 or something like that and when I heard Born To Run it really changed everything for me. Somehow his latest work don’t have that effect anymore, but maybe it’s just me…Maybe he should listen to Tom Petty’s latest for new inspiration and change the producer?

Here’s some more beautiful music to brighten (?) the rainy day. Wow, Rosanne Cash and Bruce Springsteen sound gooood together. Production is excellent, there’s nothing too much. It’s good that there are producers these days that don’t put everything and the kitchen sink in to the mix.

Here’s some more Petty and The GREAT Heartbreakers. This is part of the documentary and it is superb stuff. It’s funny that Tom Petty is getting better as he ages so in that respect he’s like old time blues players.

I guess there’s still hope that good music lives, even in these hard times.

It’s great that Tom Petty is back with his best album in many, many years. You can really see that these guys enjoy to play this music without any hype or music biz nonsense we get feed everyday. This is the way real music played.

Here’s Bob’s page on BBC 2. Take some time and listen to this guy, he’s one of a kind.
